Dynamic Impact Test

The Test

This test simulates a burglar’s physical attack on a screen – such as repetitive kicking, shoulder charging or using a heavy object.

A 40kg bag of sand and lead is hurled into the security screen 5 times, generating a force of 100 joules, more than any burglar is capable of exerting. To pass this test, the mesh must not come out of the door or be breached in any way.

The Result - Pass

Adjusta-Door features a single perforated aluminium sheet that is retained in the aluminium frame with our Superior Mesh Fixing System. The frame wall itself is 25% thicker than industry standard for increased strength.

The overall result is a super strong screen that is proven to retain excellent retention under physical attack and cannot be pulled out of the frame by even the most determined intruder.

Knife Shear Test

The Test

The strength of the security mesh is put to the test by simulating an intruder trying to cut through the screen using a knife or sharp object.

During this test, a specially designed machine draws a knife blade along a line down the mesh three times. A new blade is used for each draw.

The test fails if the blade makes a continuous incision of 15cm or greater after the third draw.

The Result - Pass

Adjusta-Door passed this test with ease because we utilize a super strong 1.6mm thick aluminium sheet that is perforated and powder coated with Dulux Duralloy for superior durability as well as good colour retention.

An intruder will never be able to make a hole in the Adjusta-Door mesh by striking at it, let alone make the hole bigger by using body weight and dragging the knife.

Jemmy Test

The Test

This test simulates an intruder attempting to break into your home by using a lever to force their way through the security door.

During this test, a lever and mechanical winch is used in an attempt to pry the door open.

The test fails if any of the hinges, locking points, or the edge of the door deflects to make a gap greater than 15cm between the door and the frame.

The Result - Pass

The Triple Point Lock Adjusta-Door offers maximum protection against intruders. Not only does it have a center lock, it also has an internal member that connects to two additional locks, one above the center lock and one below.

The door is also secured to the jamb at three anchoring points, via safety prong hinges, making the door captive even if the hinge pin is removed.

This means there are six points that secure Adjusta-Door to the jamb, which enables it to remain securely locked at all times.
