What is a Single Point Lock?

A single point lock door has one locking point at the centre of one side of the door.

The door is anchored to the door jamb in 4 places. On one side, there are three security hinges attaching your door to the jamb, and on the opposite side is the single point locking system.

For those living in high-risk areas, or an elderly person on their own, a Triple Point Lock door provides extra security and peace of mind.

What is a Triple Point Lock?

A triple point lock door has three locking points connected to an internal rod, one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom.

All three locking points are activated by either turning the snib, or by using a key. By turning the key you are able to deadlock the door.

Triple point locks are significantly more secure than a single point lock for the simple reason that the door is anchored to the door jamb in 6 places. On one side, there are three security hinges attaching your door to the jamb, and on the opposite side is the three point locking system. This creates an incredibly strong deterrent to intruders. The door simply can’t be levered at the top or bottom.
